I know a girl who's good at bringing out the rain She makes me think of things that I just can't explain As soon as the light hits the sky I'll be wiping raindrops from these very eyes When the clouds turn gray She keeps sunshine at bay Look at below (whoa-whoa-whoa) She'll go crashing rainbows so you'll know the story-oh Look out below (whoa-whoa-whoa) She won't say she's sorry yet I love her madly-oh She never pays no mind to all our miseries I'm catching-22 across diagonally As soon as the light hits the sky I'll be wiping raindrops from these very eyes When the clouds turn gray She keeps sunshine at bay Look at below (whoa-whoa-whoa) She'll go crashing rainbows so you'll know the story-oh Look out below (whoa-whoa-whoa) She won't say she's sorry yet I love her madly-oh Look at below (whoa-whoa-whoa) She'll go crashing rainbows so you'll know the story-oh Look out below x 8

Hey OK 03:16
Don't you waste away your life The best days of our lives Don't you say we're only friends Starting's not the end If this holds me to a life of degradation Well I guess this is just sticky situation I won't compromise I'll be dignified and say... Hey OK I might not be that kinda guy but Hey it's OK I'll save it for that perfect time If you were ever down I'll still be hangin' round Now I'm flying off the bend A common enough trend If this holds me to a life of degradation Well I guess this is just a hopeless conversation I won't analyse I'll be dignified and say... Hey OK I might not be that kinda guy but Hey it's OK I'll save it for that perfect time If you were ever down I'll still be hangin' round I'll take the blame Whatever happened to this love profane Shouldn't I just be locked up and insane For all time out of mind OooOooh (If you were ever down) OooOooh (I'll still be hangin' round) OooOooh (If you were ever down) OooOooh (I'll still be hangin' round)

Laugh lines form all your territories Night life dead as a cemetery Good times say it's just temporary and forgotten when we're old Hey What if its too late To save myself I'd rather doing something else Do do do do do do do Should've never left my home Do do do do do do do My cover's blown Do do do do do do do Should've never left my room Do do do do do do do Just leave me alone Bright lights blinking on like constellations White lies awkward stabs at conversation Good times say it's just temporary and forgotten when we're old Hey What if its too late To save myself I'd rather doing something else Do do do do do do do Should've never left my home Do do do do do do do My cover's blown Do do do do do do do Should've never left my room Do do do do do do do Just leave me alone Take me out from this place and I'll stay a disgrace Take me off from your gaze and I'll stare at your face Take me out from this place and I'll stay a disgrace Take me off from your gaze and I'll stare... At your face A disgrace At your face A disgrace Now it's time...for...me...to...go

Dismay 03:35
If I could just sing something special lyrics from a song If I could just stay young and stupid Would it be so wrong? Today I'm okay But tomorrow Forecast gloom and sorrow It's no surprise When you say to me I love you anyway That comes so easily, you see It's much to my dismay If I could just be someone's someone thoughts I've held so long Like lovers on their soft parades I could use some warmth Today I'm okay But tomorrow Forecast gloom and sorrow It's no surprise When you say to me I love you anyway That comes so easily, you see It's much to my dismay It's no surprise When you say to me I need you anyway That comes so easily, you see I'll never find the pathway to your heart again...

This is a love song Just a silly little song This is a love song Shouldn't take too long I have a funny feelin' That someone just so appealin' Should claim a tender piece of my heart Some kinda romance I'll do a silly little dance Don't need no metaphors It's just you I adore I have a funny feelin' That someone just so appealin' Should claim a tender piece of my... I have a funny feelin' That someone just so appealin' Should claim a tender piece of my... Heart, my heart Claim a tender piece of my Heart, my heart Claim an achin' piece of my heart

Apparitions 03:50
All-in-all I think I have to say it will be okay, for awhile Time and time again we've come to be unsolved mysteries, without smiles Haunted by your frightful whispers Let the twilight be our witness To the greatest crime Of our times Was a time when I could always see Ghostly imagery, in '85 Time might not always give a second chance Step into the light, force that smile Haunted by your frightful whispers Let the twilight be our witness To the greatest crime Of our times Haunted by your frightful whispers Let the twilight be our witness To the greatest crime Of our times Ooooh x 8

Spring won't come Summer is just a dream Sweltering hearts Wandering round in a tropical haze A physical ailment these days Burning under the sun Curse at the moon Feels just like I should be having more fun Winter won't be Autumn's eulogy Wind from the sea Casting on all our precipitous lives Precipitous signs in the skies Burning under the sun Howl at the moon Feels just like I should be having more fun Ooooh What more could I try to say (do do do do) Ooooh Take these bad thoughts away Burning under the sun Curse at the moon Feels just like I should be having more fun

Sad Sack 02:48
On a rock upon a shore A silhouette slept soundly through this war Thought he fell outta sight in '44 The memory kept raging like a storm As he... Tried to be Everyone's sad story Wait and see 32 year folly It's hard to reach for times of righteousness In a head so calm composed A brain shook rattling round just like ghost Course he'd never be free of all his woes The reverie was coming to a close As he... Tried to be Everyone's sad story Wait and see 32 year folly It's hard to reach for times of righteousness Tried to be Everyone's sad story Wait and see Won't you look kindly On a poor shell of a man Tried to be Everyone's sad story Wait and see 32 year folly Tried to be Everyone's sad story Wait and see 32 years all gone
10.
You and I Know the reasons why our stars will cross tonight Ohh storybooks and those catchy hooks A song was all it took When you fall asleep it brings my to my knees When I fall too deep to leave How did I seem to catch your eyes Held fast to these times Ohh simplify all these long goodbyes It's easier not to cry When you fall asleep it brings my to my knees When I fall too deep to leave When you fall asleep it brings my to my knees When I fall too deep I think I still believe... In silence In romance In our mysteries All we said, all we did All we knew, was so right All we said, all we did All we said, was so bright All we said, all we did All we knew was wrong in the end

about

*NEW* - Our music video for the single "Hey OK" is OUT NOW - completely handmade and animated + no CG whatsoever! www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnfraIzoh6k

Fairweather Friends is Ferns’ 2nd album and is a good way to spend an idle afternoon at home instead of pursuing useful activities such as exercising, working and getting sunshine.

Being full of vim and vigour fresh off the release of On Botany, the band ruthlessly laid plans to bust out a quick “rough & ready” EP of live in-studio recordings. But that was not to be.

Three years and innumerable wheezing attempts later, and Fairweather Friends is ready to squeeze its merry way out into the light.

The new album thankfully retains those nuggets of live studio tomfoolery, yet is made whole by a complement of younger, sexier bedfellows - who you‟re not likely to kick off the mattress. Fairweather Friends represents a small sidestep from the dreampop mists of On Botany into the unaffected terra firma of pop-rock 'n' roll.

Rather than fiddle with high-falutin‟ conceptual themes, Ferns is content to tell you that they wrote a bunch of songs with lyrics that just happened to reference weather. Given the meteorological limitations of the equator where Ferns is firmly planted; it certainly took some stretch of imagination.

The album features whimsical artwork from artist extraordinaire Shika whom, Ferns is assured, achieved the eruption of searing colours completely without the aid of pharmaceuticals.
